Gas separation membrane comprising a porous support onto which is deposited a nanoporous single-layer graphene film with a CO2-philic polymer film having a thickness of 5-100 nm coated on top of graphene nanopores, acting as a CO2-selective film, wherein the CO2- philic polymer is swollen with another low molecular-weight CO2-philic polymer.

Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage

Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) is the process of extracting bioenergy from biomass and capturing and storing the carbon, thereby removing it from the atmosphere. BECCS can be a "negative emissions technology" (NET). The carbon in the biomass comes from the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) which is extracted from the atmosphere by the biomass when it grows. GHG emissions due to human activity are the dominant cause of observed climate change since the mid-20th century. Continued emission of greenhouse gases will cause long-lasting changes around the world, increasing the likelihood of severe, pervasive, and irreversible effects for people and ecosystems.
