Abstract

Vascular normalization therapy has the potential to facilitate drug delivery and lymphocyte infiltration in tumors. Yet, optimal targets and dosage regimens remain elusive. In this issue of Med, O’Connor et al. show that inhibition of LRG1 stabilizes the tumor-associated vasculature to enhance tumor response to both cytotoxic and immune therapies.

Brain tumor

A brain tumor occurs when abnormal cells form within the brain. There are two main types of tumors: malignant tumors and benign (non-cancerous) tumors. They most commonly occur in the intestine, where they are often called carcinoid tumors, but they are also found in the pancreas, lung, and the rest of the body. Although there are many kinds of NETs, they are treated as a group of tissue because the cells of these neoplasms share common features, including a similar histological appearance, having special secretory granules, and often producing biogenic amines and polypeptide hormones.
