Force PubliqueThe Force Publique (fɔʁs pyblik, "Public Force"; Openbare Weermacht) was a gendarmerie and military force in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 1885 (when the territory was known as the Congo Free State), through the period of Belgian colonial rule (Belgian Congo – 1908 to 1960). The FP was retitled as the Congolese National Army or ANC in July 1960 after independence. The Force Publique was initially conceived in 1885 when King Leopold II of the Belgians, who held the Congo Free State as his private property, ordered his Secretary of the Interior to create military and police forces for the State.
Ministry of Public Action and AccountsThe Ministry of Public Action and Accounts (French: Ministère de l'Action et des Comptes publics) is a ministry of the Government of France. It was created by President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007, when he split the Ministry of Finance and the Economy into the Ministry of Budget, Public Accounts and Civil Administration and the Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Employment. Éric Woerth became the first Budget Minister to have a dedicated ministry since Sarkozy himself in 1995.
Loi Huriet SérusclatThe Loi du 20 décembre 1988 relative à la protection des personnes qui se prêtent à des recherches biomédicales, also known as the Loi Huriet or Loi Huriet-Sérusclat, is a French civil law to establish the regulation of those working in biomedical research, and to formalise the status quo of bioethics. It was proposed under the second government of Michel Rocard (Parti socialiste) six months after the 1988 French legislative election. It was the first French law that put clinical trials on a firm legal footing.
