Marie-Valentine Renée Agnès FlorinMarie-Valentine Florin is the executive director of the International Risk Governance Center. She organises IRGC collaborative activities, focusing in particular on the role of IRGC as a multi-stakeholder platform and a convening place at the interface between science and public policy. She joined the International Risk Governance Council (IRGC Foundation) www.irgc.org in 2006.From 2000-2006, she worked for local authorities, helping them develop and implement strategies for sustainable development, and for philanthropic and humanitarian organisations. She spent the first part of her career (1984-1999) in an international socio-cultural research and marketing consulting firm. Marie-Valentine graduated from Science Po in Paris (public policy and management), and then earned post-graduate diplomas in marketing strategy, sustainable development and environmental diplomacy. Her current involvement in IRGC activities is mostly related to:- systemic risks and transitions, governance of risks related to emerging and converging technologies- digital policy, specific risks related to machine learning- precision medicine- synthetic biology- nanotechnology- climate engineering Member of Advisory Committee to the World Economic Forum Global Risk Report 2015-2021; Fellow of the Society of Risk Analysis (SRA). David Andrew BarryResearch InterestsSubsurface hydrology, constructed wetlands, ecological engineering, in particular contaminant transport and remediation of soil and groundwater; more generally, models of hydrological and vadose zone processes; application of mathematical methods to hydrological processes; coastal zone sediment transport, aquifer-coastal ocean interactions; hydrodynamics and modelling of lakes.
Vincent KaufmannVincent Kaufmann is associate professor of urban sociology and mobility at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Since 2011, he is also scientific director of the Mobile Lives Forum in Paris. After a master degree in sociology (Universtiy of Geneva) he did his Ph.D. at EPFL on rationalities underlying transport modal practices. Vincent Kaufmann has been invited lecturer at Lancaster University (2000-2001), Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris (2001-2002), Laval University, Québec (2008) Nimegen University (2010), Université de Toulouse Le Mirail (2011), Université Catholique de Louvain (2004-2018) and Tongji University in Shanghai (2018). There fields of research are: motility, mobility and urban life styles, links between social and spatial mobility, public policies of land planning and transportation. He recently published “Mobilité et libre circulation en Europe” (with Ander Audikana) Economica (2017).
Pierre-Yves GilliéronOriginaire de Mézières (Vaud), né en 1964, Pierre-Yves Gilliéron obtient un diplôme dingénieur en génie rural et géomètre à lEcole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) en 1988.
De 1988 à 1990, il travaille au laboratoire de photogrammétrie de lEPFL où il participe à un projet de recherche en traitement dimage avec le partenaire industriel LEICA.
De 1991 à 1997, il est engagé par un bureau dingénieurs du Valais où il est actif dans le domaine de la géomatique. Responsable du secteur de la photogrammétrie, il dirige des mandats tant en Suisse quà létranger.
En 1997, il rejoint lEPFL et il est nommé chargé de cours pour le positionnement par satellite et la topographie. Parallèlement, Il collabore à la recherche et au développement au sein du laboratoire de Topométrie (TOPO) dans le domaine des systèmes de navigation appliqués aux transports.
Dès 2018, il occupe le poste d'adjoint à la direction de la section en sciences en ingénierie de l'environnement (SIE) de l'EPFL.
