Polarity (international relations)Polarity in international relations is any of the various ways in which power is distributed within the international system. It describes the nature of the international system at any given period of time. One generally distinguishes three types of systems: unipolarity, bipolarity, and multipolarity for three or more centers of power. The type of system is completely dependent on the distribution of power and influence of states in a region or globally.
Société des NationsLa Société des Nations (SDN ou SdN) était une organisation internationale introduite par le traité de Versailles en 1919, et dissoute en 1946. Ce même traité est élaboré au cours de la conférence de paix de Paris, pendant laquelle est signé le Covenant ou le Pacte qui établit la SDN, afin de préserver la paix en Europe après la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale. Basée à Genève, dans le palais Wilson puis le palais des Nations, elle est remplacée en 1945 par l’Organisation des Nations unies, qui reprend un certain nombre de ses agences.
