Wide-field time-gated SPAD imager for phasor-based FLIM applications

Résumé

We describe the performance of a new wide area time-gated single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) array for phasor-FLIM, exploring the effect of gate length, gate number and signal intensity on the measured lifetime accuracy and precision. We conclude that the detector functions essentially as an ideal shot noise limited sensor and is capable of video rate FLIM measurement. The phasor approach used in this work appears ideally suited to handle the large amount of data generated by this type of very large sensor (512 × 512 pixels), even in the case of small number of gates and limited photon budget.

Porte quantique

En informatique quantique, et plus précisément dans le modèle de de calcul, une porte quantique (ou porte logique quantique) est un circuit quantique élémentaire opérant sur un petit nombre de qubits. Les portes quantiques sont les briques de base des circuits quantiques, comme le sont les portes logiques classiques pour des circuits numériques classiques. Contrairement à de nombreuses portes logiques classiques, les portes logiques quantique sont « réversibles ».

XOR gate

XOR gate (sometimes EOR, or EXOR and pronounced as Exclusive OR) is a digital logic gate that gives a true (1 or HIGH) output when the number of true inputs is odd. An XOR gate implements an exclusive or () from mathematical logic; that is, a true output results if one, and only one, of the inputs to the gate is true. If both inputs are false (0/LOW) or both are true, a false output results. XOR represents the inequality function, i.e., the output is true if the inputs are not alike otherwise the output is false.

Fonction ET

La fonction ET (AND en anglais) est un opérateur logique de l'algèbre de Boole. À deux opérandes, qui peuvent avoir chacun la valeur VRAI ou FAUX, il associe un résultat qui a lui-même la valeur VRAI seulement si les deux opérandes ont la valeur VRAI. Il fonctionne comme un produit arithmétique : Une lampe s'allume si l'on appuie sur « a » ET « b » et seulement dans ce cas là. La fonction « ET » est caractérisée par des interrupteurs NO (normalement ouvert) montés en série.
