Antiproliferative activity of ruthenium and osmium clusters with phosphine ligands

Résumé

New ruthenium and osmium carbonyl clusters with 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo-[3.3.1.13.7]decane and 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane ligands were synthesized using Me3NO as an initiator. The data on antiproliferative activity of new compounds against ovarian carcinoma cell cultures A2780 (cisplatin-sensitive) and A2780cisR (cisplatin-resistant) are reported. The dependence of cytotoxicity on the number of phosphine ligands was demonstrated.

Osmium

L'osmium est l'élément chimique de numéro atomique 76, de symbole Os. Son corps simple est un métal platinoïde lourd, de couleur grise, dur et cassant. Du grec osme qui signifie « odeur », l'osmium a été découvert en 1803 par Smithson Tennant à Londres, avec l'iridium dans les résidus de la dissolution du platine dans de l'eau régale. Ce premier résidu de fabrication industrielle est principalement de l'osmiure d'iridium, un corps dur inaltéré dans l'attaque du minerai de platine par l'eau régale.

Dodécacarbonyle de triosmium

Le dodécacarbonyle de triosmium, souvent appelé triosmium dodécacarbonyle par anglicisme, est un composé chimique de formule . Il s'agit d'un carbonyle de métal, constitué de carbonyle CO et de trois atomes d'osmium Os formant un complexe appartenant au groupe de symétrie D3h, dans lequel les trois centres Os forment un triangle équilatéral portant chacun deux ligands CO axiaux et deux ligands CO équatoriaux. Il possède la même structure que le dodécacarbonyle de triruthénium , tandis que le dodécacarbonyle de trifer appartient au groupe de symétrie C2v en raison de ses deux ligands pontants CO.

Metal-phosphine complex

A metal-phosphine complex is a coordination complex containing one or more phosphine ligands. Almost always, the phosphine is an organophosphine of the type R3P (R = alkyl, aryl). Metal phosphine complexes are useful in homogeneous catalysis. Prominent examples of metal phosphine complexes include Wilkinson's catalyst (Rh(PPh3)3Cl), Grubbs' catalyst, and tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0). Many metal phosphine complexes are prepared by reactions of metal halides with preformed phosphines.
