Moments of the hadronic invariant mass spectrum in B→Xclν decays at Belle

Résumé

We present a measurement of the hadronic invariant mass squared (MX2) spectrum in charmed semileptonic B meson decays B→Xc ν based on 140fb-1 of Belle data collected near the Υ(4S) resonance. We determine the first, the second central, and the second noncentral moments of this spectrum for lepton energy thresholds ranging between 0.7 and 1.9 GeV. Full correlations between these measurements are evaluated. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Loi du χ non centrée

En théorie des probabilités et en statistique, la loi du non centrée est une généralisation la loi du χ. Méson B

In particle physics, B mesons are mesons composed of a bottom antiquark and either an up (_B+), down (_B0), strange (_Strange B0) or charm quark (_Charmed B+). The combination of a bottom antiquark and a top quark is not thought to be possible because of the top quark's short lifetime. The combination of a bottom antiquark and a bottom quark is not a B meson, but rather bottomonium, which is something else entirely. Each B meson has an antiparticle that is composed of a bottom quark and an up (_B-), down (_AntiB0), strange (_Strange antiB0) or charm (_Charmed b-) antiquark respectively.

Méson

Un méson est, en physique des particules, une particule composite (c’est-à-dire non élémentaire) composée d'un nombre pair de quarks et d'antiquarks. Le terme « méson » vient du grec , meson, qui signifie « le milieu, la juste mesure ». Les mésons sont des hadrons possédant un spin entier, et donc appartiennent à la famille des bosons. Dans le modèle standard, les mésons sont des composés d'un nombre pair de quarks et d'antiquarks. Tous les mésons sont instables et possèdent une durée de vie moyenne très courte.
