Self-imaging of Azimuthal Intensity Petal Based on Orbital Angular Momentum Beams

Résumé

We demonstrate for the first time azimuthal Talbot effect based on orbital angular momentum beams. The intensity petal is self-imaged in the azimuthal angle. We also draw the analogy between azimuthal and temporal Talbot effect.

Image de soi

L'image de soi d'une personne est une image mentale, généralement peu résistante à un changement, décrivant la personnalité physique et psychologique (poids, taille, couleur des cheveux, de peau , genre, orientation sexuelle , quotient intellectuel), image que la personne se forge autant par elle-même qu'au travers du regard des autres. Une image de soi négative peut être le résultat de critiques accumulées qu'un individu a subi durant son enfance, ce qui a conduit à endommager son propre point de vue.

Schéma de soi

Le schéma de soi est un concept que la psychologue américaine a développé en 1977 afin de rendre compte du besoin des individus de sélectionner et d'organiser les informations à propos de soi. Les schémas de soi évoluent dans le temps et influencent la motivation de l'individu. Ils vont également influencer la mémoire de celui-ci. Plus précisément, les schémas de soi facilitent la mémorisation de certaines informations concernant les caractéristiques personnelles des autres individus.

Orbital angular momentum of light

The orbital angular momentum of light (OAM) is the component of angular momentum of a light beam that is dependent on the field spatial distribution, and not on the polarization. It can be further split into an internal and an external OAM. The internal OAM is an origin-independent angular momentum of a light beam that can be associated with a helical or twisted wavefront. The external OAM is the origin-dependent angular momentum that can be obtained as cross product of the light beam position (center of the beam) and its total linear momentum.
