Multipactor prediction in Multi-carrier Systems

Résumé

This communication reports the status of the activity corresponding to the ESTEC contract ”RF Breakdown in Multicarrier Systems” (19918/06/NL/GLC/RF). The main objective of this activity is to propose alternatives to the 20-gap-crossing rule for multipactor prediction in multi-carrier systems. Two new analytical prediction models are presented. Numerical and experimental results are presented showing good agreement.

Prévision numérique du temps

La prévision numérique du temps (PNT) est une application de la météorologie et de l'informatique. Elle repose sur le choix d'équations mathématiques offrant une proche approximation du comportement de l'atmosphère réelle. Ces équations sont ensuite résolues, à l'aide d'un ordinateur, pour obtenir une simulation accélérée des états futurs de l'atmosphère. Le logiciel mettant en œuvre cette simulation est appelé un modèle de prévision numérique du temps.

Analyse prédictive

L'analyse (ou logique) prédictive englobe une variété de techniques issues des statistiques, d'extraction de connaissances à partir de données et de la théorie des jeux qui analysent des faits présents et passés pour faire des hypothèses prédictives sur des événements futurs. Dans le monde des affaires, des modèles prédictifs exploitent des schémas découverts à l'intérieur des ensembles de données historiques et transactionnelles pour identifier les risques et les opportunités.

Atmospheric model

In atmospheric science, an atmospheric model is a mathematical model constructed around the full set of primitive, dynamical equations which govern atmospheric motions. It can supplement these equations with parameterizations for turbulent diffusion, radiation, moist processes (clouds and precipitation), heat exchange, soil, vegetation, surface water, the kinematic effects of terrain, and convection. Most atmospheric models are numerical, i.e. they discretize equations of motion.
