Scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs production in association with a top-antitop pair

Résumé

We present the calculation of scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs production in association with a top-antitop pair to the next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy in QCD, interfaced with parton showers according to the MC@NLO formalism. We apply our results to the cases of light and very light Higgs boson production at the LHC, giving results for total rates as well as for sample differential distributions, relevant to the Higgs, to the top quarks, and to their decay products. This work constitutes the first phenomenological application of aMC@NLO, a fully automated approach to complete event generation at NLO in QCD. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Boson de Higgs

Quark top

Le quark top (en abrégé t) est un quark, une particule élémentaire de la physique des particules. vignette|300px|Diagramme de désintégration des quarks. Comme tous les quarks, le quark top est un fermion. Il s'agit d'un quark de possédant une charge électrique de +2/3 e. Il est le quark le plus massif avec une masse de (presque autant qu'un atome d'or). L'antiparticule du quark top est l'antiquark top, de charge électrique −2/3 e.

Quark

En physique des particules, un quark est une particule élémentaire et un constituant de la matière observable. Les quarks s'associent entre eux pour former des hadrons, particules composites, dont les protons et les neutrons sont des exemples connus, parmi d'autres. En raison d'une propriété dite de confinement, les quarks ne peuvent être isolés, et n'ont pas pu être observés directement ; tout ce que l'on sait des quarks provient donc indirectement de l'observation des hadrons.
