Résumé

The application describes ligands for binding targets, the ligands preferably including peptides having at least one sulfated or sulfonated amino acid. The ligand preferably specifically binds to heparin binding sites of biomolecules. Compositions, systems, and methods for making and using the ligands are described.

Chélation

La chélation (prononcer kélassion, du grec , « pince, serre de certains animaux »), appelée aussi séquestration ou complexation, est un processus physico-chimique au cours duquel est formé un complexe, le chélate, entre un ligand, dit « chélateur » (ou chélatant), et un cation (ou atome) métallique, alors complexé, dit « chélaté ». Le chélate se distingue du simple complexe par le fait que le cation métallique est fixé au ligand chélateur par au moins deux liaisons de coordination.

Ligand (chimie)

Un ligand est un atome, un ion ou une molécule portant des groupes fonctionnels lui permettant de se lier à un ou plusieurs atomes ou ions centraux. Le terme de ligand est le plus souvent utilisé en chimie de coordination et en chimie organométallique (branches de la chimie inorganique). L'interaction métal/ligand est du type acide de Lewis/base de Lewis. La liaison ainsi formée est nommée « liaison covalente de coordination ».

Héparine

L’héparine (en grec ancien ἧπαρ hepar « foie ») est un médicament anticoagulant, c'est une molécule qui fait partie des glycosaminoglycanes (GAG). Les oses constitutifs sont : la N-acétylglucosamine et des acides iduroniques. Sa structure, difficile à étudier, est souvent controversée. C'est un mélange de différents polymères essentiellement constitués d'unités disaccharidiques trisulfatées : l'acide L-iduronique-2-O-sulfate (90 % de ses composants) ; D-glucosamine-N-sulfate, 6-O-sulfate (10 % de ses composants).
